2. Data processing

When you visit this website, technical server logs may be processed (for example IP address, request time, URL, referrer, and user agent) to ensure security and reliable delivery.

If you register an account, we process your email address, authentication data, and account metadata. Draft text, writing progress, and version history are stored in your browser (Local Storage / IndexedDB). If cloud sync is enabled by signing in, writing data is also stored in Supabase.

3. Third-party services

This app uses third-party services and CDNs, including Supabase (hosting, authentication, optional cloud sync), Google Fonts, jsDelivr, and UNPKG. These providers may receive your IP address and technical request data.

Supabase acts as a processor under a data processing agreement.

3a. Payment processing (Stripe)

If you subscribe to the Club Member plan, payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. (stripe.com). Stripe receives your payment details (e.g. card number, billing address) directly. We do not store your payment details — only your Stripe customer ID and subscription status are saved in our database to manage your access.

Stripe processes data as an independent controller under its own Privacy Policy. Processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract performance).

4. Shared Supabase infrastructure (NovelSprint and 1,001 Words)

NovelSprint and 1,001 Words are operated by the same controller and run on shared Supabase backend infrastructure in a common database environment.

Data is processed only for the purposes described in this policy. If data collected in one service is used for a new purpose in the other service, we provide prior information as required by Article 13(3) GDPR and rely on an appropriate legal basis.

Depending on context, processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract), Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests such as security and reliable operation), Article 6(1)(c) GDPR (legal obligations), or Article 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).

5. Optional marketing consent

During registration, you can optionally consent to receive product updates about NovelSprint by email. This consent is optional, separate from account creation, and can be withdrawn at any time.

6. Premium subscription data

If you subscribe, we store your subscription status, plan type, trial dates, and billing period in our database. Writing statistics (word counts, streaks, goals) are calculated from your existing writing data and stored to provide the Club Area features. Your display name, if set, may be publicly visible on the daily Wall of Fame.

7. Storage duration

Local browser data remains stored until you delete it in your browser settings. Account and synced cloud data remains until account deletion or a valid deletion request, unless legal retention obligations apply.

8. Your rights (GDPR)

You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, objection, withdrawal of consent, and complaint to a supervisory authority, as applicable under GDPR.
